Prerequisite

Filling Out A Request

Logon

Open the Telkom website. Logon with your n.ethz username and password. If you don't remember your n.ethz password, you can reset it here

After a successful logon, you will see a split screen: On the left, you can see your existing requests and their status. On the right, you can create new requests.

Create New Request

If you want to create a new request, fill in the Fälligkeitsdatum (Due Date) and a Bemerkung (Comment). The Fälligkeitsdatum (Due Date) is by default ten days in the future. Telkom needs that much time. Please do not call ISG about moving this date, we cannot speed up the requests.

Click on "Speichern" and the request will be saved on the left side of the screen. Select the request in the column "Auftrags-ID" (request ID) and click on one of the options "Neuanschluss erfassen" (Install New Telefon Line) or "Umzug erfassen" (Move An Existing Phone Connection). When saved, this will create a new ID in the lower part of the tool's window.

Please read on for a detailed explanation of those two options.

"Neuanschluss erfassen" (Install New Telefon Line)

You can choose between "Endanschluss wählen" (Choose Endpoint) or "Nur Standort wählen" (Choose Location Only). In both cases, the mandatory information to be provided are highlighted with a red *

Whenever there is a , a search form will open where you can find the information you must enter.

Kabel (Cable) - in the search form, enter the UTP outlet number where the phone should be connected

Umzug (Move)

Rufnummer (Calling Number) - enter the phone number to be moved e.g. 29876 via the looking glass

Endanschluss wählen (Final Connection Point) - choose this if you know the exact office number and UTP number

Nur Standort wählen (Choose Location Only) - choose this if you are missing some location info

Kabel (Cable) - in the search form, enter the UTP outlet number where the phone should be connected

Splitter - needed if several phones are to be connected to one UTP outlet

Edit An Existing Request

After logging in, you should see a list similar to the screenshot below:

To edit a request:

  • * 1) select a row from the upper part of the window (Auftrags-ID)
  • * 2) select an ID from the lower part of the window and
  • * 3) click on Bearbeiten (Edit)

The selected ID should in the right part of the screen. If not

  • * 4) try clicking where 4) is on the screenshot to make sure the editor window is not minimized

Logout

Logout is available in the top right corner. Don't just close the browser - always log out!
