Printing: Solving printer problems

Stopping a running print job
To stop a running print job, first try pressing the printer's "Cancel" button (usually the red one). Some more pages will come out, but most of the time, this will cancel the current print job. If this method doesn't work, simply switch off the printer's power and wait a few seconds. Then switch it on again. The stopped job is automatically removed from the print server, so the next queued job (if there is one left) is sent to the printer. You probably might have caused a paper jam. If you know how to fix it, try it yourself, if not, contact ISG.EE support.
A printer's toner cartridge is empty or the maintenance kit must be replaced
Contact the responsible person of the institute to replace it. If there is none, contact ISG.EE support (write an e-mail to support@ee.ethz.ch or make a phone call to 20909).
A printer runs out of paper
If a printer's paper tray is empty, just fill the tray with the stock paper that is sometimes provided on the printer's desk. Please feed the printer tray(s) with the (correct) paper type that is indicated on the paper tray's front. If there is no paper available, contact the responsible person of the institute to replace it. If there is none, contact ISG.EE support (write an e-mail to support@ee.ethz.ch or make a phone call to 20909).
A printer seems to have paper jam
If you don't manage to resolve the jam yourself (please be careful when opening the printer), contact the responsible person of the institute to fix it. If there is none, contact ISG.EE support (write an e-mail to support@ee.ethz.ch or make a phone call to 20909).
