Printing: Solving printer problems
Stopping a running print job
User are able to stop their printing Jobs by them self, use this link. If you feel that you are manually challenged in any way, please call support@ee.ethz.ch for assistance! We will gladly remove any stuck paper for you.
A printer's toner cartridge is empty or the maintenance kit must be replaced
If there is no one, contact ISG D-ITET support (write an e-mail to support@ee.ethz.ch or make a phone call to 20909).
A printer runs out of paper
If a printer's paper tray is empty, just fill the tray with the stock paper that should be provided close by the printer in open view. If there is no paper available, contact the ISG D-ITET support (write an e-mail to support@ee.ethz.ch or make a phone call to 20909).
A printer seems to have a paper jam
If you don't manage to resolve the jam yourself (please be careful when opening the printer), contact ISG D-ITET support (write an e-mail to support@ee.ethz.ch or make a phone call to 20909). We will gladly help!
A printer requests a PIN
For printers located in student rooms an additional PIN is required. To set the PIN, go to https://print.ethz.ch -> On the left side: "Change Details" and set your personal PIN.
Printing: Reporting an unsolvable problem
In case you are unable to solve your problem as listed above:
Write an e-mail to support@ee.ethz.ch
- If it is very urgent, call 20909 (office hours)
- Keep your document, maybe we need it later on to analyze the problem
- Please report:
- the type of problem
- the printer's name
- the time when you printed the job
- your loginname
- your computer's operating system and your computer's name
- the software you used to print.
- your phone number if you are outside ETH
