Data Backup and Restore

Data Backup and Restore is a professional service for data backup provided by Informatikdienste for ETH staff members. The client software is available for different platforms and can be used to backup local data on self-managed clients which are registered in the D-ITET network. The service is based on the IBM enterprise software "Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)". The client software has an easy to use graphical GUI. Here the links to the ID website:

The service can only be used from clients directly connected to the internal network, backup/restore operations over a VPN connection are not possible. At the moment the service can be used for free.
