Linux Distributions
We are using at the D-ITET the GNU/Linux distribution Debian. Debian is a community driven Linux distribution with a significant community. There are several reasons why ISG D-ITET has choosen the Debian distribution for over a decade. This distribution allows us simple a new creation or updating of a release, performing security updates and much more. The installed base system is enhanced with additional software packages provided via the SEPP system.
There are various other distributions with a different focus. Other popular distributions are Ubuntu Linux, Novell SuSE, Redhat or Fedora.
