Scanning at D-ITET

Usage

First of all, you need to login with your ITET (tardis) account in order to use the machine.

  • All applications and tools are accessible from the Applications Folder in Finder
  • Scanning
    • Flatbed scanner

    • dia scanner:
      • Start SilverfastPro (for both scanners) or Nikon CoolScan (for the slide scanner)

      • Choose the appropriate scanner
      • Configure the settings as you desire
      • If you have several slides, use the feeder and read the manual
  • Burning CDs/DVDs
  • Your Files
    • The home-Folder you can see is a subfolder of your tardis-home (pay attention to your quota!)
    • Save your files on the local disk and burn them afterwards on DVD or CD
    • Alternatively save your files in your home and copy them later from your tardis-account
    • Or copy them to another place accessible with ssh by using the tool Fugu
  • For Online Help choose in Finder 'Mac Help' from the Desktop-Menu bar (on the top of the screen)
  • Printing is handled as described in Printing
