Special Printing

General Info

At ETZ-J66 we maintain the D-ITET print shop called ETZSPEZ with modern devices and wide media and format coverage.

The print-queue is being processed automatically for all printers and prints are released by file-size, beginning with smaller ones first.

High-speed and high-quality (8 UV-resistant inks) large format ink jet printer, loaded with an A0 120g/m² paper-roll.

The average processing time for one A0-print on white paper when nothing in queue is around 15 minutes.

If you wish to print on semi-gloss paper, deliver the appropriate parameter. Processing time then is around 1 day.

VPP-Parameter	Value	Effect
Form	A2, A1, A0	Use value as paper-size (implying that the document has the same size)
	A0.scale(x)	Scale the document up/down by factor x with paper-size A0
	A0.special(semigloss)	Hold job back in queue until semi-gloss paper is loaded (min. 1d processing time)

High-speed and high-quality color laser printer with finisher options, loaded with A4 and A3 paper, both 100/160 g/m².

The average processing time for 100 pages on A4.duplex on white paper when nothing in queue is around 15 minutes.

If you wish to print on A4 200g/m² paper, which is not duplex-able, deliver the appropriate parameter. Processing time then is around 1 day.

If no value for the media is delivered, the job will be printed on A4 100g/m² paper, which is common for thesis, diploma, papers etc.

	A3.heavy	Use 160g/m² paper instead of 100g/m² paper
	A4.punch	Punch 4 holes on the longer left side (max. 50 sheets)
	A4.staple	Tack staple at the upper left corner (max. 50 sheets)
	A4.special(200g)	Hold job back in queue until 200g/m² paper is loaded (not duplex-able, min. 1d processing time)

High-capacity monochrome laser printer, loaded with A4 and A3 paper, all 80 g/m², A4 also recycled.

The average processing time for 100 pages on A4.duplex on white paper when nothing in queue is around 10 minutes.

If no value for the media is delivered, the job will be printed on A4 80g/m² recycled paper.

These Parameters can only be set by hand when sending a print-job via the VPP-backend. Values can then be combined by adding a dot in between.

There is a poster cutting machine and a staple cutting machine in the room. Please follow the instructions as shown on the poster above the corresponding machine. As the staple cutter is a dangerous machine, you need to deposit your ID/Legi at ETL-F22 in order to get the key for it.

== Saving paper and costs ==
Before printing large jobs, do a test-print.

This makes sense for posters as well, test yours by printing it on A3 at X7760 first.
