Where should I save my data?
Managed Windows Workstations
If you're using your data exclusively on ISG D-ITET managed Windows workstations, you can easily use the "My Documents" Folder. The following folders are redirected to your home directory on our Linux servers:
- Desktop
- Downloads
- My Documents
- My Pictures
- My Videos
Managed Windows Mobile Devices
Please always save your important data to your home drive H:. The folders mentioned above are not redirected on laptops and thus, the data is never backed up. If you need a backup solution, please have a look at Services/Duplicati.
Managed Linux and Windows
If you work on both, Linux and Windows devices, your unix home /home/$USERNAME and Windows drive H: point to the same storage location.
