Where should I save my data?

Managed Windows Workstations

If you're using your data exclusively on ISG.EE managed Windows workstations, you can easily use the "My Documents" Folder. The following folders are redirected to your home directory on our Linux servers:

• Desktop
• Downloads
• My Documents
• My Pictures
• My Videos

Managed Windows Mobile Devices

Please always save your important data to your home drive H:. The folders mentioned above are not redirected on laptops and thus, the data is never backed up. If you need a backup solution, please have a look at Services/Duplicati.

Managed Linux and Windows

If you work on both, Linux and Windows devices, your unix home /home/$USERNAME and Windows drive H: point to the same storage location.
