How to activate german Umlaute on english keyboards

This description is valid for all Linux 'Sqeeze' systems at D-ITET.

K-Button -> System Settings -> Regional&Language -> Keyboard Layout -> Tab:Layout -> Option:Enable keyboard layouts -> Tab:Advanced -> Expand:Compose key position -> Klick:Left Win -> apply

After that the Umlaute can be typed with [Shift+LeftWin+ " ] [a or o or u].
